Shipstern Bluff & Tunnel Bay (March 2016)

Set out on this one with Kat and Josh. It was an absolute scorcher of a day, and it was a much more demanding walk than we’d anticipated. It was a bit of an endurance test, but getting to the base of Shipstern Bluff and seeing titanic waves roar up against the rocks was more than worth it, and the resulting spray was as refreshing as we needed.

Along the way, we stopped at Tunnel Bay (the tunnel of which I maintain looks like the silhouette of a Monty Python illustration), lost Kat in the trees heading down to the bluff, and I also forced Josh to pose as Ariel on the rocks. The only lowlight of the day was realising we had a pretty steadily uphill walk on the way back – survivable, but not something to take lightly.
